CANCELED Saturday Morning Rides in Snohomish County #15 (Steady/Moderate)

Details

Pi Day: This ride lands on 3/14 also known as Pi Day. Let’s all celebrate after the ride and enjoy each other’s company over a slice of pie at the Saw Mill Café located at the Mill Creek Town center. Refer to the following URL for details: http://sawmill.cafesinc.com/

Saturday Morning Rides in Snohomish County: Come and check out the the beauty of Snohomish County; we will cover pretty much every corner! Routes start at 30 miles in December and increase to just over 60 miles by the end of March. The elevation averages 50ft/mile.

Route: This series has covered many places this winter: Mill Creek, Snohomish Valley, Everett, Mukilteo, Lynnwood and Edmonds. Well, this route combines all of these in one big rurban route (it's rural and urban) with lots of beautiful views of the Puget Sound and the mountain ranges. Even our stop at the Everett Marina is one with a gorgeous view. Route and cuesheet: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/6265183

Stats: 57 miles, 2686ft elevation. For some unknown reason RWGPS inflates the elevation of this route from 2686ft to 3141ft upon saving. Multiple tries to fix it didn't solve the problem. Rolling hills, but nothing crazy steep; just long at times.

Stops: MP 7.3 Willis Tucker Park (restrooms only), MP 23.8 Sea's the Day Cafe, MP 45 Lynndale Skate Park (restrooms only) .

Ride leaders: Moderate: Mark Keithly and Dorothé Reijnders, Steady: Michael Cunanan and Larry DeBardi - Mentee: Scott Slater riding with the Moderate pace group!

Expectations (important, please read!): Arrive at least 20 minutes before the start of the ride to sign the waiver and be part of the safety briefing. S.M.A.R.T. riding is the standard and all riders are held accountable for doing their best to adhere to these; we want to be awesome representatives of the bike community in Snohomish County and be safe! Front and rear lights are highly recommended! Riders should be able to maintain the posted pace. We regroup occasionally. Riders have to be independent when they have a flat and/or mechanical. Please print a cue sheet in case you get separated from the group and bring a charged cellphone if possible. All riders are responsible to promote a great experience by having a positive attitude, having fenders when the roads are wet or rain is in the forecast, enjoying the beauty we are surrounded by and just by having fun! Steady rain/snow cancels the ride. If the ride is canceled, it will be posted by 7:00 am in the comment section. In that case the ride leader(s) will not be at the start.
