Seattle Pastry Ride (brisk/moderate/steady - 30.3/20.5 miles)

Details
Join us for a ride through northwest Seattle to Cederberg Tea House (http://cederbergteahouse.com/) on Queen Anne. Starting from the Lower Woodland Ballfields parking lot, we will ride north on the Interurban Trail to Shoreline. From Shoreline we'll descend and then do our big climb of the day, Innis Arden Way. Then it's mostly downhill through Ballard to the locks, where we'll walk our bikes across the ship canal. Then we'll ride through Magnolia and Interbay to the Thomas Street Overpass, where we'll cross the railroad tracks. Next we'll climb Queen Anne Hill to our destination, Cederberg Tea House at MP26.6 (16.7 for steady). Steady riders will do a shorter and less hilly route.
This will be a social, stay-together ride with waits at the top of hills and all critical turns along with photo-op stops along the way.
Please have long fenders to protect riders behind you if roads are wet (or be prepared to ride at the back of the group). If ride is cancelled due to weather, it will be posted here in comments by 7:00 a.m. and ride leaders will not be waiting at the start.
Notes: Bathrooms at start. We can also make a restroom stop at the locks or Discovery Park if needed. All riders should come equipped to deal with their own mechanicals. Waiting for mechanicals will be at the discretion of the ride leader.
Ride Leaders:
Brisk (16 - 18 mph) - Rich Knox, Machiko Threlkeld
Moderate (14 - 16 mph) - Tom Moberg, Rosemary Ferrentino
Steady (12 - 14 mph) - Alfred Fung
