Half Century - Log Boom Park & Snohomish Loop

Please note, this ride will likely take over 4 hours when factoring in elevation and regroups for riders of varying capabilities on inclines. Be mindful of that if parking a motor vehicle at the start point parking lot as I do not know if there is a parking time limit. Consider parking nearby in a neighborhood and riding your bike to the start point if driving from where you live.

I will be at the seating area near the playground between the restrooms and parking lot at the ride start. Please show up 15 minutes before the posted ride start time to sign the ride waiver and hear the safety briefing. There is a restroom at the start. The route is 53 miles with restroom and water filling opportunities at around mile 10, the lunch stop in Snohomish at around mile 33, and (if necessary) in Matlby at around mile 41. I plan on leading at a consistent moderate pace with occasional regroups as necessary. I recommend looking at the RidewithGPS link to get an idea of the route for your own comfort. Riders going excessively slower or faster than the majority of the group will be self guided, please print a cue sheet from the route map provided if you think you will need it. Having a cell phone and money or an Orca Card for bus fare is a good idea for unplanned emergencies. Be sure your bike is in good working order and bring what you need to be able to repair your own flats. I do not plan to stop for or assist with minor mechanical repairs.

If there is a forecast for showers at the ride start, I will change and shorten the route to under 30 miles. A forecast of steady to severe rain at the ride start will result in cancellation of the ride and I will post a comment here at 9 AM as notification.
