Cycle the Gap #6 Full Lake Loop Brisk/Moderate/Steady/Leisurely

Details
Cycle the Gap (formerly known as CTS Rides Again) is a series of six Sunday rides (this is the last one) beginning July 5 following the conclusion of 2015 CTS series to help riders prepare for the RSVP, RAW, and other challenging rides. We have chosen six of the best rides from the Cascade Training Series (CTS) series to ride again. We will have four different paces (Red/Leisurely, 10-12 mph on flats; Yellow/Steady, 12-14 mph on flats; Green/Moderate, 14-16 mph on flats: Blue/Brisk 16-18 on flats).
These are part of the club’s Free Daily Rides program and are open to everyone. Join us for one, or two rides, or be a real trooper and ride all six. You decide what works for you. We will try to have two or three ride leaders per pace so it is very important that you RSVP on MEETUP at least two days prior to each ride. This will allow us to secure additional ride leaders if a large number of riders wish to ride at a particular pace, and also allow you to get updates if there is a possible cancellation and for group communications.
Today's route is: The Full Lake Loop - 50 miles/2150'
This is a regular route for the club and for many of you was one of the early CTS rides. so you will be able to see how much better a bike rider you have become since you rode it a few months ago.
The ride starts at the Cascade Club Headquarters in Magnuson Park. We ride North to the famous Juanita Hill, then South down through Kirkland where we take our first Rest Stop at Hidden Valley Sports Field/Boys & Girls Club (17.8). We continue South to Bellevue and beyond with beautiful views along the Eastern side of the lake. In Renton we turn North again and head back pausing in Seward Park for our last Rest Stop (36.5).
There we can say hello to the Club members who will be doing helmet sales (you can get a new one for just $15.00) and supporting Bicycle Sunday along the Lake. We will enjoy the car free section as we ride along the lake to the back parking lots of the University of WA and finally make our way back to the Club Headquarters.
Following the ride, everyone is invited to join some of the Ride Leaders at Baskins- Robbins at 3200 NE 45th St to celebrate the end of the Series and make any plans for the RSVP.

As customary for all Cascade rides, please make sure you wear a helmet and have necessary gear and knowledge to fix any flats you might get along the way. The group will not stop to repair flats or mechanicals, but our sweeps will ensure you have a cue sheet to continue the ride.
These rides are not supported. There will be short rest stops along the route, but come prepared with your own food and beverages. Please email the Ride Director with any questions/concerns.
Please arrive 20 minutes early to hear the safety briefing, sign the waiver and to ensure you are ready to ride on time.
