International Day of Friendship Ride - Woodinville (multipace - 40 mi)

Details
“On this international day of friendship, let us cultivate warm ties that strengthen our common humanity and promote the well-being of the human family” – United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
So, let’s go for a ride (four paces offered)! You are highly encouraged to bring a friend and wear the colors that represent your country and/or your culture!
A special (free) memento will be available for the first many riders. It reflects the desire to promote friendships between people and cultures through cycling.
Route:
Starting at the Woodinville Sports Fields in Woodinville, we will head north into rural Snohomish County and stop in Snohomish at the Snohomish Bakery at MP 19.1. We'll head back via Paradise Valley Road, up over Hollywood Hill and back to the start location.
Distance and elevation: 40 miles - 2100ft elevation Terrain: Rolling hills

Paces:
Steady: Larry DeBardi & Michael Lum
Moderate: Dorothé Reijnders & Judy Fyffe and mentee David Skurnik
Brisk: Alexa Volwiler & Frieder Mack
Vigorous: Alan Tagstrom
Expectations:
S.M.A.R.T. riding is the standard and all riders are held accountable for doing their best to adhere to these; we want to be awesome representatives of the bike community in Snohomish/King County and be safe! Riders have to be independent when they have a flat and/or mechanical. We regroup on top of hills, but riders should be able to maintain the chosen pace. Please print a cue sheet in case you get separated from the group. All riders are responsible to promote a great experience by looking out for each other, having a positive attitude, not trash-talking others, having fenders when the roads are wet (please), enjoying the beauty we are surrounded by and just by having fun! Steady rain will cancel the ride.

Seattle Art Institute Video Project: We will have students following along the route taking photos of the groups and interviewing riders at stops. This is part of a Free Group Rides documentation project that we are supporting.
