Details

It’s almost fall … time to start riding for pastries! Come join us in our ongoing quest to find the best pastries on the Puget Sound. Our first ride will explore some hilly and scenic territory between West Seattle and Normandy Park with a pastry break at The Original Bakery in Fauntleroy. There will be an optional killer climb at the end for those that have some leftover legs.

Distance: 46 miles
Elevation Gain: 3592'
Terrain: Hilly

Pace: Brisk [16-18 mph] & Moderate [14-16 mph]. Please note, we will ride within the posted pace on the flats with an equivalent effort up hills. If you plan to ride faster or slower, please come prepared to ride on your own so that each pace group does not have long wait times.
Regroups/Mechanicals: This will be a social ride with waits at the top of hills and all critical turns along with photo op stops along the way. We will not stop for mechanical issues. Please come prepared with the necessary equipment you need to take care of flats or other problems on your own. Please print a cue sheet in the event that you get separated from the group.

Rest Stops: There are restrooms at the start. The planned break is at The Original Bakery (http://www.theoriginalbakery.com)in Fauntleroy at mp 32.8.

Requirements: Please make sure to arrive at least 20 minutes before the ride start so you can get prepared to roll out at the posted time, sign a waiver, and hear the ride briefing. As is required with all Cascade rides, please ensure you wear a helmet and come prepared with gear that is comfortable and appropriate for the distance/elevation. If you are new, please read our newcomer information (http://www.cascade.org/welcome-newcomers).

RSVP: Please RSVP for the ride so we can plan for the appropriate number of Ride Leaders.

Cancellation Policy: Showers will cancel the ride. In the event of ride cancellation, a notice will be posted on this page at least two hours before the ride and the ride leaders will not be at the ride start location.
