Ride Description:
It’s almost fall … time to start riding for pastries! Come join us in our ongoing quest to find the best pastries on the Puget Sound. This week, we will ride out of Gasworks Park. We'll head up to Green Lake, climb over Phinney Ridge, and take the 58th Street greenway across Ballard to the locks. We'll do some climbing on mostly quiet streets in Magnolia, Queen Anne, Capitol Hill, and Beacon Hill. That should work up our appetites for our pastry stop at Columbia City Bakery. We'll then head back to Gasworks with a short climbs along the way.

Pace: Please note, we will ride within the posted pace on the flats with an equivalent effort up hills. If you plan to ride faster or slower, please come prepared to ride on your own so that each pace group does not have long wait times.

Regroups/Mechanicals: This will be a social ride with waits at the top of hills and all critical turns along with photo op stops along the way. We will not stop for mechanical issues. Please come prepared with the necessary equipment you need to take care of flats or other problems on your own. Please print a cue sheet from the route link in the event that you get separated from the group.

Rest Stops: There are restrooms at the start. We will have a short stop at Judkins Park at mp 18.7. The bakery stop at Columbia City Bakery is at mp 32.4.

Requirements: Please make sure to arrive at least 20 minutes before the ride start so you can get prepared to roll out at the posted time, sign a waiver, and hear the ride briefing. No riders will be allowed to participate if they haven't signed the waiver and heard the safety briefing. Please be prompt. As is required with all Cascade rides, please ensure you wear a helmet and come prepared with gear that is comfortable and appropriate for the distance/elevation.

RSVP: Please RSVP for the ride either here or on Cascade.org site if you have an account, so we can plan for the appropriate number of Ride Leaders. Meetup is a great place for ride discussions and sharing photos after the ride.

Cancellation Policy: In the event of a weather cancellation, a notice will be posted in the comments on this page at least two hours before the ride and the ride leaders will not be at the ride start location.

Start Location Notes: Bathrooms at start. Gasworks main parking lot is on N Northlake Way near Burke.
