Auburn to Maple Valley for Coffee (Steady 12-14)

Details
Come join me on Sunday, October 18th for a bike ride! We’ll start in Auburn and ride the flat valley floor for about 5 miles before our climb up to the Black Diamond plateau. Once on top we will meander around Lake Morton towards Maple Valley. Our mid-ride break will be at Ristretto’s Coffee & Wine, not the usual Black Diamond Bakery. Something different that I think you will enjoy. After our break we will head back, riding along Lake Sawyer then descending down 218th to the Green Valley Road which will take us back into Auburn.
Please meet at the Auburn Regal Theater parking lot next to the Outlet Collection Mall. I will be at the north end of the lot, between Walmart and the Regal Theater.

Distance: 35 miles.
Pace: Steady, which is 12-14 on the flats. This ride will be a relaxed and social one at a steady pace. There is one long steady climb out of the valley and a few rollers; riders may ascend the hills at their own pace. We will wait at the top where we will regroup before moving on.
Long fenders are appreciated this time of the year unless it is bone dry and there is no chance of rain in the forecast on the day of the ride.
Weather: Showers will cancel. I will watch the weather and if I do cancel I will post below in the comments section two hours before the ride, so please check. I will not be at the ride start if cancelled for rain.
Regroup: Occasional.
Terrain: Some hills.
Mechanicals: Please be sure you have the equipment and knowledge to change a flat plus a cue sheet to get home, or a phone to call for assistance if needed.
Mentoring: is available with advanced notice. Leave a message below or call/email me. You must know the route if you want to be mentored on this ride.
