Renton to Leschi for Coffee - Steady

Details

Winter riding is fun! Our warm dry days are fading fast but that doesn’t mean it’s time to give up our riding! I personally find winter riding to be a great time to be on my bike. My winter rides are geared towards getting out there and just having a good day on my bike. So . . .

Let’s go for a bike ride this Sunday! Why stay inside when you can join me on a great bike ride! We’ll get some exercise and fresh air; stop at a nice place for a mid-ride break, all of this while enjoying the company of your fellow cyclists. So, come on, what are you waiting for?! Sign up and I will see you at 9:30 AM at the start!

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start of the ride to sign the waiver and be part of the S.M.A.R.T. safety briefing. Front and rear lights are highly recommended! Riders should be able to maintain the posted pace. I will regroup occasionally. All riders should be able to fix a flat and deal with any mechanical issue. Please print a cue sheet for yourself. Also, fenders are recommended when the roads are wet or rain is in the forecast. Steady rain or unsafe conditions cancels the ride. If the ride is cancelled, I will post a cancellation announcement 2 hours before the ride start in the comment section below. If I cancel the ride I will not be at the start.

This Sunday’s ride is from Renton to Leschi via Mercer Island and our mid-ride break will be at the Leschi Starbucks.

Distance: 35 miles.

Pace: Steady, which is 12-14 on the flats. There are a few short climbs and a few rollers, some nice flat sections and a sweet gradual descent coming back into Renton, so a nice mix of terrain on this ride. On the climbs riders may ascend the hills at their own pace. We will wait at the top where we will regroup before moving on.

Weather: Showers will cancel.

Regroup: Occasional.

Terrain: Some hills.

Mentoring: is available with advanced notice. Leave a message below or call/email me. Please know the route if you want to be mentored on this ride.
