Black Diamond on Black Friday #OptOutside (Leisurely, 50 mi, 1400 elev)

Looking to work off that extra piece of pumpkin pie and avoid the shopping mania? Join us in following REI's lead and opting to get outdoors! This is a relaxed social ride on mostly bike trails and country roads. It is a gentle climb to the Black Diamond Bakery and then pretty flat on the way back. There is one short hill right before the Bakery and a windy downhill slightly after it where we will take our time and be safe. We will ride at the high end of Leisurely on the flats and regroup at the tops of hills so you can climb at your own pace.

There are restrooms at the start and then at Black Diamond but otherwise opportunity is limited to a honeybucket here or there. Please bring adequate food and water, in this cooler weather it is easy to neglect hydration and nutrients but this is a fairly long ride and both will be important for steady energy.

Long fenders are very strongly requested! If you do not have them you will be asked to ride at the back of the group in wet conditions.

Steady rain will cancel. The ride leader will post the cancellation 2 hours before the ride. If cancelled the ride leader will not be at the start. There will not be a shorter rain route. Please print your own cue sheet and arrive early enough to sign the ride waiver and review Cascade riding SMART. Mechanicals will not stop the group, be sure to have the equipment and knowledge to change flats, a cue sheet to get home and/or a phone to call for assistance if needed.
