CANCELLED - Winter Solstice Ride

Join Marizel and me on the shortest day of 2015 for a winter solstice bike ride. We will depart from the parking lot of Renton's Old City Hall and head north along Lake Washington to Madison Park’s Starbucks where we will have a short coffee break before turning around and retracing our route back to Renton.

Please arrive early, at least 15 minutes before the posted start time to sign the waiver and hear the S.M.A.R.T. safety briefing. Riders should be able to maintain the posted pace. I will regroup occasionally. All riders should be able to fix a flat and deal with any mechanical issue. Please print a cue sheet for yourself. Also, fenders are recommended when the roads are wet or rain is in the forecast. Steady rain or unsafe conditions cancels the ride. If the ride is cancelled, I will post a cancellation announcement 2 hours before the ride start time in the comment section below. If I cancel the ride I will not be at the start.

Distance: 28 miles.

Pace: Steady, which is 12-14 on the flats. This ride is mainly flat with 3-4 climbs. On the climbs riders may ascend the hill at their own pace. We will wait at the top where we will regroup before moving on.

Weather: Showers will cancel.

Regroup: Occasional.

Terrain: Some hills.
