NERD #7 (Steady/Moderate/Brisk)

Come join us for the 2016 NERD (Northside Evening Rides before Dark) series.

We meet at the Lynnwood Transit Center, in the SE corner by the Interurban Trail. If it's your first time at Lynnwood TC, there is a second area SE of the bus area. Please check the map above for exact location. The series offers midweek training rides, 20-30 miles long, to keep up strength for the longer weekend rides. Multiple paces are offered: Brisk (16-18mph), Moderate (14-16mph), and Steady (12-14mph).

We will regroup at the top of long climbs for a reasonable amount of time. Riders should also know how to read a cue sheet, change a flat (and have the requisite equipment), and have a positive attitude! Please print a cue sheet or load the route into a GPS device. We will not be stopping to wait for mechanical failures so having a cue sheet is strongly recommended.

Notes:

• Riders must be ready to ride 15 minutes before start time, and we roll promptly at 6pm to make the most of the daylight. Riders who are not present when the safety briefing begins (5:50pm) will not be able to ride with us on that day.
• There is a water fountain at ride start, and a single restroom open during the week, but it is often occupied. If you do need it, be sure to arrive with extra time to wait for it to be vacant.
• Front and rear lights are recommended. The routes are designed to be completed around sunset but riders should be prepared in case of unforeseeable delay. Riders who do not have lights may be turned away for safety. Steady pace might shorten the route to be finished within a reasonable amount of daylight.

Registration:
PLEASE RSVP ahead of time if you plan to ride with us so we can recruit additional ride leaders as necessary. RSVP not required, but would be MUCH appreciated. If you have a Cascade account you can sign the e-waiver on the CBC website to speed things up at the ride start. To do this, sign into your account and click "register", select your pace from the drop down menu and fill out the details. At ride start, you will still need to check your name off.

Weather notice:
In case of inclement weather, the ride leader will post a cancellation notice in the comments by 4pm day of the ride and will not be at the ride start.
