Ride Director: Cathy Henley (4cathy@live.com)

Ride Description: This ride will circle north of Bellingham through rolling countryside. We’ll travel to the rural town of Nooksack, visit the Dutch community of Lynden, visit the border town of Blaine, cross Lummi Nation land, and skim along the breathtaking shorelines of Drayton, Birch, and Bellingham Bays. Rest stops are available at miles 28.3, 44.4, and 60.5. Please bring two water bottles and money for food you'd like to purchase.

Meeting Place: We'll meet in Bellingham at the Civic Field Athletic Complex. Please park in the southwest corner of the complex (away from the stadium). There are restrooms available at the start.

Start Time & Registration: Please arrive no later than 9:40 a.m. to prep your bike, sign the waiver and hear the ride briefing. To save time at the start, please register on the CBC site (https://www.cascade.org/node/38321) (first sign into your CBC account and then click the "register button" for this ride; you do not have to cancel if you cannot come).

Paces: This is an unsupported, self-paced ride. All riders are welcome (including non-Cascade Bicycle Club riders), but every rider should be prepared to ride on their own. Please note that there are no leading/sweeping ride leaders for the route.

Weather Cancellation: In the event of steady rain or some other major weather event, the Ride Leaders will not be at the ride start. Please check the comment area in this posting 2 hours prior to the ride for ride cancellation announcements.

Policies: Riders are required to wear a helmet and abide by Cascade Bicycle Club's riding policies (see the club’s newcomer information (https://www.cascade.org/welcome-newcomers)). Riders should know how to read a cue sheet, change a flat tire or fix their own mechanicals (and have the equipment to do so), and have a positive attitude.

Make it a weekend: CBC is also hosting another ride from Glacier up to Artist Point on Sunday, if you'd like to make a weekend out of your riding adventure up north: Visit the CBC page here (https://www.cascade.org/node/38284) or see the meetup posting here (https://www.meetup.com/cascaderides/events/233122409/).

Route Notes: These rides are not supported. We will stop at locations that have facilities (water and sometimes food) along the route, but please come prepared with your own food/beverages and carry two water bottles.
