Subject: [drumcircle-212] New Blood and New Energy for an Evolving Rhythm Culture

I hope everyone had a wonderful experience this weekend at either Paralounge, Qi Revolution or the New Moon drum circle Saturday night downtown. I attended New Moon circle and had a wonderful experience. Perfect weather and a respectful group created an amazing circle with lock tight groves all night long. We also had an amazing night last night with Buddy Helm and the healing drum protocols.

We have one more Moon Circle gathering where we will be able to conduct an African Drum Circle. Be sure to be in attendance Saturday May 9th for the last big drum circle on Thornton Ave. Lets make this gathering the biggest and loudest ever as we mark the end of an epic era.

As a community we have grown beyond the confines of Thornton Ave. New gathering places are in the works and we look forward to this next evolution of our rhythm community. To help with these changes I am happy to introduce three new moderators for the Central Florida Drum Circle meetup. Jesse Rodger, a.k.a. Talisen of Bardic Productions, Karl Maranda from Drum for Wellness, and Leann Drury from P.U.R.E. have joined Jason and I to help organize and promote drum culture all around Central Florida. Please welcome these committed drummers and help us create, preserve and grow rhythm culture for our community. We welcome your suggestions and feed back for this online forum as well as your help developing new gathering places.

New Moon and Full Moon gathering will continue to take place on Thornton Ave, we will just not be able to allow loud drums like djembes, djun djuns, congas and cow bells. We will continue to gather in the garden under the Bodhi Tree each moon to celebrate the cycle of time with our frame drums, tablas, and softer percussion instruments. Guitars, flutes and voice will also be welcome inside this healing energy circle.

I have been in talks with different venues around the downtown Orlando area to find a new home for African drum circle. A couple spots look positive and I hope to announce a new home by May 9th. Karl is working on securing the New Smyrna Beach spot for regular gathering starting up once Sea Turtle nesting season is over. It also looks promising that starting next Fall we will have a safe place outside the city to conduct weekend long gatherings where we can drum all night with no curfew. Stay positive and stay tuned for announcements.
