• Gong Flow with Wolf Murphy
Join us Nov. 13th, Tuesday 7:30pm for a special evening of sound: The Gong! The Gong Flow is a one-hour meditation. Experience the therapeutic vibrations from a large Chau Gong!. Singing bowls and sacred rattles will also be sprinkled into the hour of sound. Just as a body massage works out tight and knotted muscles, the "sonic massage" of a gong flow can work out emotional and physical issues that we need to release in order to move forward in life. Let go and let the sound of the gong do the work. The experience is effortless and the results profound. This is a time of deep relaxation and expansion, where transformation and healing occur. Take time to receive information that is most beneficial to you. Come experience & feel the powerful healing vibration of the gong! Please bring a yoga mat and anything else you will require to be receptive and comfortable for the duration. Participants might also want a journal to record their experiences. Cost $15 in advance. $20 day of event. Tickets: https://www.paypal.me/sacredmoments/15?fbclid=IwAR1wgrhFLOwPUJXkBCsODLyfPx4ABw9u4Cvddk2jDZ7q4vQYkKcJabJsUeE "One who plays the gong plays the universe. The gong is not an ordinary thing to play. Out of it came all music, all sounds, and all words. The sound of the gong is the nucleus of the Word. . . . 'The gong is the first and last instrument for the human mind. There is only one thing that can supersede and command the human mind-the sound of the Gong. It is the first sound of the universe. It is the basic creative sound. To the mind, the sound of the gong is like a mother and father that gave it birth. The mind has no power to resist a gong that is well played.'' -Yogi Bhajan About Wolf: Wolf Murphy, M.A. (English), RYT and Owner of The JAMMIN! • Full Moon Circle
Join us under the Bodhi tree to celebrate the Full Moon! At the school, we seek to connect our community with the planetary cycles that affect all of us, even in urban environments, such as seasonal cycles, planting cycles, and lunar cycles. It is our belief that by living in greater harmony with the natural cycles that guide us, we develop a greater relationship to the planet and thus it becomes easier to walk our path lightly upon her. To help our community connect with the lunar cycle, we celebrate the New Moon and Full Moon with community circles. These family-friendly events feature drumming, dance, chanting, singing, local artists, healing, and much more. The energy of the circles shifts with the lunar cycles and is different each time. All traditions and faiths come together to honor the gifts of our shared community, planet, and universe in music, rhythm, and fellowship. Playing music together puts us in touch with the creative force that directly connects with our humanity. Each of us carries our rhythm every day, even if we’ve never drummed before. We walk in rhythm…our heart beats in rhythm…we breathe in rhythm… When we take that rhythm and express it as a thread in the woven fabric of our circle, we realize how our uniqueness blends with that of others to create a rich tapestry of community. In service and gratitude, we offer these gatherings to help our community reach its highest potential through rhythm, with an intention to serve, to inspire and to reach beyond what separates us. Meditation, massage, reiki, flutes, guitars, frame drums, tablas, and other musical instruments of a softer volume are welcome. Come sit in the garden and enjoy a moment to heal and commune each New and Full Moon. Bring an instrument and a friend, or make new ones around the circle. Moon Circles are intergenerational and family-friendly events, but please note: Children must be supervised at all times. Due to loud noises and large crowds, to ensure safety for all ages, we ask that you please leave animal companions at home. Held at the Dandelion Communitea Cafe – Bodhi Garden located at 618 N Thornton Ave, Orlando, FL 32803

  • Hoop/Frame/Shaman Drum Building Workshop at Crystal Gaze
Come build your own Shaman (Hoop) Frame Drum! This is a fantastically primal experience and you will not only craft your own spiritual instrument but will learn some of the technique and lore associated with this style of Healing Drum. All materials are included. Your frame can be either multi-ply Maple (domestic) or solid bentwood Mulberry (imported). You select the type of rawhide drum head you want; the rawhide lacing used to attach your head will most likely be Horse (for strength) and the lace to create the handle will match your selection of hide if possible, but we make it a point to use as much of every hide as possible by cutting all scrap into lace so it may vary. You will personally mount your rawhide drum head and craft your handle from the lacing on the back. Hoops under 16" MUST be crafted from Deer skin (or upgraded to Elk or Moose, IF we can get thinner hides for the smaller hoops.) You may currently select Calf/Cow, Deer, Goat or Camel hide for your instrument—please include a note with your order letting us know your top 2 preferences (Hides can be very seasonal!). Other hides (Moose, Elk) are available at an additional cost; contact us to order these so we can check availability and price. For Photos please click on the ticket link. Please sign up at the website below and choose which drum you would like to build for yourself. Note, you MUST Preregister by 10/31/18 so that we can have all the correct materials on hand, and we are limited to 12 prepaid participants. Tickets: https://jamminshop.com/products/hoop-frame-shaman-drum-building-workshop-at-crystal-gaze Hide Characteristics Calf/Cow: Medium tones. These skins tend to be somewhat translucent which gives a very cool appearance, especially around fires. :) Camel: Good tonal range, more resistant than other hides to humidity changes in tone. Deer: Higher pitched tonality; beautiful white/golden hues. Elk: Very similar to deer but tends to be thicker, so deeper in tone. Goat: Deeper tones; we use African Goat hide which is hand-scraped to remove hair which can leave beautiful patterns on the hide. Moose: Very similar to deer but tends to be slightly darker hued and thicker, thus deeper in tone. About Wolf: Wolf Murphy, M.A. (English), RYT and Owner of The JAMMIN!
