Leadership Changes for Orando Drum Circles

Greeting to all my drum circle friends,
If you missed last night's drum circle at the Orlando Brewery because of the cold, you really missed something special. The energy and rhythm inside the circle were just amazing. A big thanks to Sydney for brining out some extra fire wood to help keep us warm around a big fire!

I write today to make sure everyone knows about a big announcement that was made last night. Like many of the leaders in the drum circle scene here in Central Florida I have a day job that has nothing to do with the music. Duty is calling me right now to spend an extraordinary amount of time handling a window of opportunity for the Homegrown Local Food Cooperative which I direct. To secure this immediate opportunity, and the long term vision for a sustainable food supply for Central Florida, I am stepping away from many non-coop related responsibilities to focus my mind and effort.

In regard to the Orlando drum circles I have been involved with starting and organizing, I am pleased and happy to announce that I have found a successor to replace and redouble my efforts at the Orlando Brewery circles and many leaders to help continue the healing energy of the Moon Circles each and every month in the Bodhi Garden.

Jesse Rodgers will now be in charge of drum circles at the Orlando Brewery each month. We have been drumming at the Brewery for a little over six months now and each time the energy and momentum gets bigger and better. There is obviously still lots of room for improvement so please share your ideas for making these events a little better for everyone to enjoy. For those who are interested in helping keep the Orlando Drum Circle going and growing please contact Jesse at [address removed] Introduce yourself and let him know you want to help.

The Moon Circles will now be led by many wonderful souls that have stepped up to continue their positive healing nature each New & Full Moon. Leann Drury will help on a regular basis with frame drum and dumbek rhythm leadership. Henry Matutino will be helping with fire tending and of course playing and teaching didgeridoo. Spider, aka Robert Doland, will be helping regularly with moon circle facilitation as master of the flutes. There is still plenty of room for help with the Moon Circles, so if this is something of interest for you, please contact any of us to discuss your ideas.

I am extremely grateful and thankful for all my friends and helpers that have really made it happen with the drum circle here in Central Florida. It wasn't long ago that a drum circle was a strange, foreign and even taboo activity being run out of the parks by the police. Just a few short years ago we started our effort to secure and establish a healthy safe and secure scene for drummer and dancers to enjoy. This has been secured and our community is a better place for it! Now thousands of people have experience the positive healing and character building potential of drum circle. Many people have found themselves. Many lasting friendships have formed and some have even found their true loves around the passion of the drum. But our work is not done; there are many more thousands waiting to awaken and become empowered at their first drum circle. Please share the word and help Jesse, Leann, Jason, Spider, Henry and myself keep the beat alive!

Locally yours,
Michael Tiner
