This Hugo-nominated fantasy novel is notable for its unusual setting, a Middle Eastern-themed world of djenn and ghuls, holy warriors and heretics, Khalifs and killers. It also has some themes that may be of interest to CFI'ers, such as fundamentalism versus moderate religion.
(Our previous June selection, "Red Plenty" is actually a non-fiction book, making it not suitable for our club. So we picked a new selection for June).

It sounds like something we could consider. The plot of the book you recommended also reminded me of Greg Egan's novel "Zendegi" (though I haven't read it, except for synopsis). It also seems to be about political unrest in the Middle East playing out in real and virtual worlds. Perhaps we could go on Middle East/cyberwarfare binge, and read both books in succession. :-)
