BRAIN SCIENCE - Your Brain On Creativity

The Illinois Science Council presents

"I’m a Genius!  What a brilliant idea!

I'm a Failure!  I choked under pressure!"

Sometimes terrific ideas or solutions occur to you out of nowhere, like in the shower or when you’re falling asleep?  But other times, you struggle over something and draw a complete blank.  What’s going on in your head when your brain works so well, and so awfully, at different times?  How can scientists actually research something as elusive as "creativity"?  Having an "Aha!" moment is so gratifying.  The question is whether you can do anything to have more of those and fewer “D'oh” moments.  Mark Beeman, Associate Professor of Cognitive Psychology at Northwestern University will explain what insight is, how the brain produces creative thinking, and ways we can improve those “Eureka!” occasions

6:00 – 7:30pm

Reserve your seat below for ISC's very cool 2012 BRAIN SCIENCE programs!

Each program is FREE and open to the public.* However, seating is limited so please reserve a seat for yourself and any guests. If you reserve a seat and find you can’t make it, please let us know so we can release your seat to others. If the program you want has sold out, email us ([masked]) and you'll be put on a wait list.

Very interesting, but the presenter spoke too fast.

It seems the best option is to cancel as they confirmed by email that they are sold out. I will try to attend next week's.

I'm thrilled people are interested in ISC's Brain Science talks. However. . . know that RSVP'ing here on Meetup IS NOT a reservation for the event. You must click on the link provided to actually reserve yourself a spot. If a program is "sold" out, send an email as indicated to be placed on a waitlist. When you only respond here, ISC has no idea how many people will attend, have their names or ability to contact attendees if there are changes. So please use the link. Thank you.
