Astronomy 101 - A crash course about the Universe

From: Ed S.
Sent on: Friday, June 21, 2013 11:51 PM

  • I’m sorry for all those final adjustments with the date and time.
  • I had a very difficult time getting a place for the event. Fortunately I got a school in Wicker Park that open its doors for us.
  • The date and time for the event are now 100% solid and they will not change.
  • The Chicago Astronomical Society will bring telescopes and volunteers that will be there to give talks and answer your questions. So, write them down and bring them over!
  • Depending on weather conditions we will have 2 solar telescopes to observe solar spots and solar flares with special filters.
  • We will also have an assortment of different telescopes for you to learn their functions and to learn how to orient them properly!
  • Depending on how late we stay we may even be able to do some observations at night time if possible.
  • NOTE: If you would like to volunteer, please, let me know by sending me an email.
  • Or via FaceBook here:

This is a preliminary list of some of the speakers and volunteers in alphabetical order. On Monday I will announce the final list and what their talk(s) or participation will be:
