Tuesday Meetup at BooCoo

Hi Folks,
Pardon the extra communication regarding the meetup next Tuesday: Introduction to Joomla. A number of people, including me, have expressed some dissatisfaction with BooCoo as a location. The air conditioner is noisy, we frequently have connectivity problems with the big screen TV, the food menu is limited and the management seems to be a bit gnarly in terms of assistance.

I got an email from Jason at BooCoo who is the NEW manager and he is wanting to be as helpful as possible. He'll provide us with a microphone for sound so we can speak over the air conditioner, said he would help as best he can with connectivity to the TV, and wants us to know what's on the menu next week:

Grilled chicken pesto sandwich, spicy black bean burger on an onion roll or Boocoo grilled cheese with chipotle mayo. Served with chips. Also fresh fruit. And of course, the usual coffee drinks.

I have investigated some alternate locations in the last month and most of them have involved an increase in expense and they are mostly just parallel to what we already have. So I'm asking for your patience for the coming weeks as we continue with BooCoo. If you have a hearing problem (as I do), please sit as close to the speaker as possible. Come hungry... there are some good choices and as much as I'd like to complain, I have to say any establishment that allows us to take over their space in exchange for just food and drink sales is providing a service to us by any stretch.

I'd appreciate your feedback as we continue with BooCoo. You may want to think about whether or not it's worth it to you to pay $5 per session (rental at one of the private rooms in the Evanston library, for instance).

See you next week.
