hi all,

before i bore you with my music musings, i wanted to let you know that you can "opt out" of my mini missives by making an adjustment to your profile.  this means that you can still to all the other amazing things with this group, but skip this such banter. check it out...on the top right hand part of the screen should be your picture next to "my profile." click on this, and select "email and notifications" to change your options.

ok. now that we have that out of the way, i wanted to pass along more general info about music, and that is that, in the US, most every album is released on a TUESDAY. why is this important? well, new music means new tour, which means new meetup, and a chance for you and yours to have one helluva night!

so, if you see a new album coming out for one of your favorite artists, you may want to pay more attention to the EARLY WARNINGS notification by the chicago reader, which i mentioned last week. i hope to summarize all of these tidbits in a section of this site soon.

so, now that you know that music comes out on TUESDAYS, where can you find out what exactly was released? easy enough, i check a site called the site covers all genres of music, and provides great history on bands, and even who they have worked with, and what other bands have influenced them, or they may have influenced. i *highly recommend* checking this site out if you want the scoop on your favorite bands.

so, yah, that's my li'l bit for this week. again, i'll try to compile all of these thoughts into one collective space soon.

next week, i'll talk a little about chicago music venues. don't forget, you can "opt out" of my banter and badinage just by changing your email settings. feel free to message me if you have any questions about the site, or this info, though.

see you at the show!
