Project Nim: Cedar Lee / Felices

Sent on: Friday, July 29, 2011, 10:30 PM

Hi everyone,

We are already into August and the movies keep coming.

If you are around this Sunday, why not join us to see a soon to be classic, Harry Potter.  Join the group to view the movie and discuss it afterward at Hoggies.  The group will be meeting at Valley View.

Then, on Thursday, we head to the Palace theater downtown to see a true classic, King Kong.  Cinema on the Square shows the classic films that we have come to learn about from our parents and grandparents.  Why not see them the way they were meant to be seen?  On the big screen.

Cinema 25

Hard to be believe but the Cinematheque is turning 25 this month.  They are sponsoring a cocktail party with champagne, desserts etc. followed by a movie about a Cinematheque that turns 25.  Amy and I will be attending.  Its on Monday August 8 at 6:45.  Hopefully we will see some of you there too.

About two years ago, the group saw "Man on Wire", a documentary that was one of the best I have ever seen.  It detailed the story of the daredevil who strung two wires between the Twin Towers and tight rope walked between the two while security people were dumbfounded.

The same directory now addresses Project Nim, the story of the ape who learned how to speak multitudes of words in the English language.  It should be outstanding.  Hope to see you there.  We will eat at Felices excellent homemade cooking restaurant afterward.
