We just rescued a pup, coming to us from Louisiana, a
victim of Gustav.
Can Gus come with Corkey to our meet-ups?

It sounds like you both did excellent. At least that's what the end results look like. Many congrat's you both deserve it. Sorry I haven't been to many of the events lately. I have tendenitus in my knee which has been making it pretty swollen. So I've been off of it as much as I can. Also I'll be missing the Halloween event as I'll be in Atlanta visiting my sister. Although look for me at Christmas. I sure do miss the bunch. Take care and I look forward to seeing you in the near future. Give Zoie a pat for me. I miss her too.

Some of you wanted to know how Zhoie did at Champs, Zhoie did very well at the NADAC Championships, it was very long days but Zhoie was a little trooper! The days started at 7:00 am and ended around 10 or 11:00 pm depending on when your run were. The Champs were 5 days long (and it was long!!) hee hee the courses were nice and challenging, there were the option of "double shots" during the runs (which means you run 2 runs at once back to back about 30 obstacles) and you would get bonus points so in order to be competitive for points you pretty much had to run it...
Zhoie ran them awesome, me on the other had had some breathing problems (being much higher in altitude) it was very hard for me to catch my breath after a run... after a few days I became acclimated... phew good thing because we did a lot of running!!
How the points work, it's time + faults out of 5 days of runs that consist of the "Games" (tunnelers, touch &go, Jumpers, hoopers, and weavers) and then there are the "Regular Runs" that after 5 days they took the top 10% of each division 8"12"16"20"20+" and they got to run in the final run#6. In Zhoies class it was 3 dogs and Zhoie made top 3 to run in the finals! yea Zhoie :0) She had an awesome run with 1 knocked bar so we placed 2nd in the Finals. Then we had to wait for the Awards Ceremony to see how she did over all for all 5 days!
In the 5 days Zhoie had: (out of 17 dogs in her division)
1-7th (this was the first run of champs, and it went better after that) hee hee
In the Overall Awards Zhoie took:
1st in versatility (consists of all the Games and the Regular Placings) BIG SILVER CUP 1st in Elite Regulars (All 5 days of the regular rounds)BIG TROPHY & ROSETTE RIBBON Highest Scoring Dog from Washington jumping 8"&12" Trophy w/Stars
We are waiting to receive the 1st Place Elite Regular Trophy & Ribbon in the mail as there was an error in the placing and we were placed 3rd overall in error, we found out later that we actually got 1st not 3rd.
Way to go Zhoie!!! She ran her little heart out for me and had a blast doing it!! We both had a fantastic time and it was an awesome experience!
you can see some of Zhoie's photos from champs at www.greatdanephotos.com then go to 2008 NADAC Champs, then winners, go to 2nd page and she is the first dog. then if you go to the dogs page and go to Zhoie Smith you can see the photos while we were running. enjoy!
Thanks for letting us brag... hee hee
