Need an Instructor for High School Python/Hacker Boot Camp

My name is Michael Miklich, President of iForCE ( Alex thought I should send this request out to the entire distribution list, that someone or more than one of you may be interested.

I have developed and implemented the only in use High School Cyber Security track, which means high school students use an elective period to take courses over their four years in high school in sequence, that develop the fundamental skills needed for future careers in Cyber Security or IT in general.

Chantilly High School (Fairfax County Public Schools) and Forest Park High School (Prince William County Public Schools) are piloting the program this upcoming school year. To launch the pilot, build enthusiasm, gain momentum and raise the awareness of what we are doing I have planned a summer boot camp. The boot camp will include rising 9th graders through just graduating 12th graders.

The last week of the boot camp the focus is on Python/Ethical Hacking. I need an instructor who will come to Woodbridge VA where we will physically be meeting, and lead the students that week in their instruction. The dates are Monday August 19th - Friday August 23rd 8 am to 5 pm.

I want the instruction to be project based, so I want someone who will be able to take students who have no Python knowledge, to beginner knowledge by using a project. Meaning that we don't powerpoint them to death, but we get them on a computer and they develop something functional using Python, in the process of developing this something they learn some Python basics. I want to do the same in the Ethical Hacker portion of that week. They continue to use Python to learn some very basic ethical hacking or systems penetration techniques and theories. Again a project based learning.

Through iForCE it is my intention to bring Python/Ethical Hacking as a course available to high school students for credit. We are working with the Governor of Virginia's technology department to get this course created. They are watching Chantilly and Forest Park to see how it works out before we go state wide. It is my hope that their success and success in Virginia takes it national.

One last thing Your instruction will be recorded and will be a part of our lecture library which will be used by the teachers at schools during the course of the school year.

I hope that at least one of you are excited about what we are working on accomplishing and will be able to be a part of it.

You may reach me at [address removed].
