Dr. Victoria Lemieux, Associate Professor of Archival Science at the University of British Columbia, and Steve Thompson, will present their research on "Blockchain Technology for Recordkeeping: Help or Hype?”. The talk will cover the technoscape, how blockchain technology meets existing recordkeeping standards, the state of the knowledge across other universities around the world, the state of the knowledge in Canada, and how the blockchain can preserve documents and the legal admissibility of those documents.
