Beginner Series Part Two and ClojureScript with Om
Details
Beginner Session
Our First Project
This month we continue with the beginner series. We'll start with project management in Clojure (http://clojure.org/) with a brief overview of Leiningen (http://leiningen.org/). There we will quickly move to writing our first stand alone Clojure program that can be called from the command line. We will evolve this code and write a few simple REST (https://github.com/ring-clojure/ring) endpoints (https://github.com/weavejester/compojure) and review the data structures (http://clojure.org/data_structures) covered in the previous meetup. Testing (https://clojure.github.io/clojure/clojure.test-api.html) is important so we'll cover that too.
Advanced Session
ClojureScript with Om
There is a lot of interest in using ClojureScript (https://github.com/clojure/clojurescript) and Om (https://github.com/omcljs/om) to create user interfaces in a more functional way. In this talk, I will compare a JavaScript implementation of a simple interface with an implementation with Om. Then I will show a more complex example with a data driven design with Om.
