Welcome. We're a friendly group for those who program using the Python language as well as those wanting to learn it.
Social hour starting at 6pm.
Our normal meeting and talk will start at 7pm. This be an in-person event
Most architecture decisions are made on slides and validated in production, usually the expensive way. Archipel Labs takes another route: a simulated e-commerce company running 24/7, with storefront, orders, suppliers, invoices, events and analytics. In this talk, I'll show how the simulation works and what it's for: generating realistic datasets, testing software components that are notoriously hard to interconnect, and above all, learning on a real, running system instead of a toy example. We'll walk through the Python machinery behind the business activity and how AI is leveraged inside the business flows to keep the simulation lively rather than deterministic. Everything is open-source, and this is only the beginning: the goal is to watch the simulation grow the way a company grows, one system at a time.
Loïc Veyssière is a principal IT architect based in Dallas. His background mixes scientific computing, machine learning and software engineering, but recent years were spent in the field: auditing and scoping information systems for banking, healthcare, fintech, retail and industry. He founded Archipel Labs, a public enterprise-architecture and data-systems laboratory.
