Announcing a new Meetup for The Austin Dungeons & Dragons Meetup Group!

What: July Meet-Up

When: Sunday, July 18,[masked]:00 PM

BattleForge Games
2700 W Anderson Ln
Austin, TX 78757

Hi all,

I have scheduled a Meet-Up on Sunday, July 18th, at 1:00 p.m., at Battleforge Games.

Two games currently are scheduled for this Meet-Up.

OD&D / Swords & Wizardry. Jimm graciously has agreed to DM his old-school D&D game once again:

Two days north of the last outpost of the Sparn Empire, through the cannibal haunted jungles of Brool, across the piranha teeming river, a great boulder-strewn crag rises from the mists. An enormous, leering reptile skull sits atop the rugged formation. Some say the skull is an odd natural formation, while others insist it is the petrified remains of some primordial unhuman god. Whatever its origins, the whispered tales of Skull Mountain all agree on one thing: incredible treasure and unmatched glory await those bold and foolish enough to penetrate the mountain, unravel its dark secrets, and brave its untold dangers. Of course such treasure and glory will only accrue to those who can return alive!

This is an ongoing OD&D/Swords & Wizardry scenario for low-level characters and beginning or experienced players. New characters will be created at the table before play begins. Returning characters who are entered in the "Skull Mountain Book of Names" are also welcome.

Level 5 4E Adventure. Andy graciously has agreed to DM again as well. This time he'll be running a 4E one-shot adventure for 5th-level characters. Players interested in this game should bring a 5th-level character, using the standard rules for equipping your character (i.e., one 6th-level magic item, one 5th-level magic item, one 4th-level magic item, and starting gold pieces equal to the value of a 4th-level item which players may spend as they see fit).

R.S.V.P.s. Jimm and Andy both did a great job last month, so my guess is that attendance will be high. For planning purposes, it would be helpful if you indicate which game you intend to play in with your R.S.V.P. Also, for those of you for the 4E game, it would be helpful if you indicated the character class you intend to play.

DMs Wanted. If you are interested in running an adventure at a future Meet-Up, please feel free to contact me and/or one of the other Assistant Organizers. You're welcome to run any version of D&D that floats your boat (or even another fantasy RPG, such as Pathfinder).

Interested in Organizing an Event? I know that the traditional Sunday time slot does not fit everyone's schedule. If you are interested in organizing an event on a different day/time (whether on a regular basis or just a single occasion), that can be arranged. The Meet-Up software has been updated and now permits me to designate Meet-Up members as the "host" of an event. So if you would like to schedule and organize an event sometime, feel free to contact me.

Hope to see you at the Meet-Up.
