What we're about

The Austin D&D and Tabletop RPG Meetup is a great way to meet other local players and find or start a game. We are open to all versions of D&D, Pathfinder and similar tabletop roleplaying games. Austin also hosts an RPG Meetup (http://www.meetup.com/roleplayers-413/).

Our About Page (http://www.meetup.com/dnd-823/about/) lists local game shops, many of which host RPG days.

If you want to post regular events contact Organizer Jerod (http://www.meetup.com/dnd-823/members/4245920/)and he'll set you up.

Mutant: Year Zero @ Vigilante Gaming Bar

Vigilante Gaming Bar

Have you ever wanted to wield cool powers, explore a futuristic wasteland, and die of radiation poisoning? Try Mutant: Year Zero, the award-winning game of exploration, community-building, and weirdness! Campaign Log: http://www.wjs3.com/my0/ I'm an experienced GM with a gaming group that's looking to add a few more players. We're planning to meet every other Sunday, 1:00-5:00 or so, at Vigilante Gaming Bar. Please message me here for more info, or to RSVP. Drop-ins are welcome, as character creation is very fast in this system (but it helps if you show up 15 minutes early).

I Can't Believe It's Not DnD - Tales from the Loop

Bell's Gaming Center

If you are interested in this meetup, please go to the Bell’s Gaming Center Warhorn page (https://warhorn.net/events/bells-gaming-center) to sign up. The cost is $3 per person paid to the store. In this roleplaying game in the vein of E.T. and Stranger Things, you'll play teenagers solving mysteries connected to the Loop. The game rules are based on Mutant: Year Zero, which was awarded with a Silver ENnie for Best Rules at Gencon 2015. The landscape was full of machines and scrap metal connected to the facility in one way or another. Always present on the horizon were the colossal cooling towers, with their green obstruction lights. If you put your ear to the ground, you could hear the heartbeat of the Loop – the purring of the Gravitron, the central piece of engineering magic that was the focus of the Loop’s experiments. The facility was the largest of its kind in the world, and it was said that its forces could bend space-time itself. * * * I Can’t Believe It’s Not DnD is an opportunity to explore various RPG systems that aren’t Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition. Sessions will be weekly with the game system changing at the start of each month. The first session of each month will typically be dedicated to learning the game and going through character creation with the following sessions being either one offs or a short campaign. However, if you miss the first session don’t be discouraged, we will still teach mechanics in these later sessions. Pregens will be available, system allowing. You can expect various Savage World settings, OSR (Old School Renaissance) games, and other, weirder fare. Feel free to suggest which rpgs you might want to see in the future as which system we play in a month will be based on some mix of player interest and my own burning desires. The voices of those attending the current sessions will be given preference. There is a discord. (https://discord.gg/XB9Z5GG) Feel free to drop by. There is also a planning doc with potential games. D&D 5e at Toy Joy Hyde Park

Toy Joy on Airport

Muster your sense of adventure for Dungeons and Dragons! We'll be rallying together every Monday night at 7 PM to play some D&D over at Toy Joy in Hyde Park. No previous experience needed, and we're happy to teach rules and help you build a character. We'll play using the current (and awesome) 5th edition of D&D, and will play using the Adventurers League rules. (And if you've never heard of that, don't worry about it. We'll explain it.) That way you can take your character to other game nights and conventions, like Role Play Rally! We'll also be playing games designed to run in a single night, so no long term commitment required. Are you a Dungeon Master (or want to be one) looking for a place to run? We always need new DMs! Come on out and we'll get you on the roster! And make sure you book your space at Role Play Rally, a weekend D&D convention here in Austin, taking place every January and June!
