Re: [dnd-823] Introduction of Organizer Helper

Nice to meet you Michael!  I know I'll certainly be picking your brain for ideas on how to make DMing and gaming simpler since that's practically my hobby: Hunting for what I call "DM relief tools".

My name is Michael Corrinet.

First) Norm is in charge as far as I am concerned.  I'll be helping organize and add content, ideas, resources, etc. for the group.  If he contradicts, corrects or otherwise disagrees, go with Norm.  His say comes before mine every time.  I've been an admirer of his for a long time and his efforts have helped the gaming community here a great deal.  I cannot be an effective helper and not be clear on that.

Second) Consider me a resource, helper in getting things into the right place, getting things listed, trouble-shooting, etc.  I may trouble Norm initially with questions in private email if I'm not sure about how to do something, but that's only once per issue at most because I intend to learn this site backwards and forwards.

Third) Introductions: Gamer, age 10; DM, age 17; now age 50 something (don't get pushy, youngsters!).  Familiar with everything up through third edition, and have most of the materials in addition.
I've been running the same campaign for more than three decades, have a wife who is a long-time gamer and a daughter who certainly has the imagination and intelligence for it (she's six).
I support all versions, despite doing a base of 2nd Edition.  The hobby needs support for all styles of games, and I do not get into "this game is better than that game" generalizations because I've played and enjoyed too many things on their own merits (that doesn't mean you can't have such preferences, I support that as well - freedom!)  I'm an educator, run a business for advocacy of parents/kids, tutoring, sensory development programs...etc., etc.

What can I offer as a resource for the group?
A) Time to help you get what you need.
B) Full library of Original D&D through all of 2nd Edition and much of 3rd Edition.
C) Years of experience and still much to learn (why stop?)
D) An understanding that you need only one organizer - so no confusion or arguments with Norm - none of us need that from a helper to him.
E) A love of helping others and a strong desire to foster the gaming environment in Austin.

Let me know how I can help you.  I'll be bouncing some ideas off of Norm, so if you have ideas of your own, send them to me and tell me if you want your name attached to the idea (you might not, but I always give credit where credit is due).

After four decades as a public servant in education, I'm experienced at recognizing how to make YOUR job easier and help you meet your needs here.

Forgive the formal introduction, side effect of being over fifty.  Go have fun!
