First 5K in 10 Weeks
Interested in getting off the couch and scratching that 5km race off your bucket list? Dublin Runners is starting a structured program over the next 10 weeks to do just that and are looking for members to commit to three runs a week (Two within the group (Wed Evening & Sat Morning)) on a program designed for those who have not run in a long time.
After a warm-up, we will do some jog-walk-jog exercises (eg. gentle run for 1-3 minutes, walking for a minute), which will build up to more running, less walking over the 10 weeks.

Every run will be finished off with a cool down/stretch. The first session on 8th January will be a welcome session, where we look at everyone’s starting level – depending on numbers of participants and variety of levels; we might split into different groups in week 2. The aim is to enable you all to join us for a 5 k at the end of the 10 weeks.

The venue is for the first few weeks is the path surrounding the polo grounds in Phoenix park and will extend into other parts of the park as we go along.
What do I need to bring?

Just yourselves, your sense of humour and perhaps a drink for afterwards. We do not have any changing facilities so please do not bring any bags along. The evening are still dark so reflective clothing is good. We will have some headlamps with us for the Wednesday run.

Group runs will be 7:00 PM every Wednesday and 11:00 AM every Saturday.
