Building hyper-local Biz & Media models
Our Speaker for Thurs 16 Feb will be Patrick Kitano. Hyperlocal business opportunities are often overlooked because they don't scale to massive market places. Hyperlocal success requires presence and focus in hundreds of markets, often with local management & marketing teams. Patrick will discuss a huge opportunity: why most every local business will require a turnkey social marketing solution, and will explain various business models evolving to service them. He will draw on his experience developing a national hyperlocal media network to illustrate why old media and their commercials and banner ads don't address the needs of local business today.
BIO: Patrick Kitano is founding Principal of Brand into Media, a strategy group for social brand management solutions, and administrator of the Breaking News Network, a national hyperlocal network devoted to community service. He is the author of the Local Network column on Street Fight, a hyperlocal business journal, the media blog Media Transparent, and contributor to Social Media Today, Daily Deal Media, and The Customer Collective. He is reachable via email at [address removed].
