Public Tools for a Zero Carbon Future - Coming up this Thursday, register now!
Please join us to hear from our special guest, Corinna Contreras, Transportation Public Policy Advocate for the Climate Action Campaign. She will speak about government initiatives that aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and how the public can use these developing initiatives to learn about and advocate for real climate change solutions. We will review the county’s Regional Decarbonization Framework and other regional efforts that are currently occurring in the public domain.
There is no charge for this online presentation but please register in advance. There will be time for Q&A.

They are free and online and cover a variety of environmental topics, including the causes and consequences of anthropogenic climate change and possible solutions. - Guided River Walk with the CEOTown and Country San Diego, San Diego, CA
To kick off San Diego River Days, The San Diego River Park Foundation’s CEO, Rob Hutsel, (who is also one of the organization’s founders) invites you to join him for a guided walk of the River Trail in Mission Valley. Learn about the history of this area, the ecological value, and the future of new parks and trail segments coming soon from the person in the know!
This is an excellent chance to get a glimpse of the River Park Foundation’s trail advocacy efforts. You may even be inspired to become a trail advocate! This walk will be at a leisurely pace, stopping for occasional discussion, for approximately 2.3 miles on a paved path, traveling from Fashion Valley Road to Mission Center Road and back. Strollers are welcome! Leashed, well-mannered dogs are also welcome.
Additional Notes:
This walk is part of a series of events being hosted at this site on May 11, including:- Habitat restoration: 9:30 am-noon
- Kayak clean-up: 10 am-noon
- Midday guided walk: 10:30 am-noon
What to bring on the walk:
- Please wear comfortable walking shoes
- Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat are recommended.
- Please bring your reusable water bottle
- And don’t forget to bring your questions about the San Diego River Trail!
