Entheo-Health and Wellness Forum w/Kat Harrison, Dr. Gary Pace, and Ron Nadeau
Details
The use of entheogenic plant medicines, as well as synthetic compounds, offer an opportunity for healing on both the individual and collective levels. Together we will explore the medical and therapeutic aspects of entheogenic experiences, as well as the potential they hold for healing and the evolution of consciousness. With appreciation for both clinical and ceremonial contexts, this event will showcase the individual work of several pioneers in the field of entheogenic/psychedelic research as well as offer a panel discussion. Amongst the speakers and panelists are professionals in the fields of clinical research, pharmacology, natural medicine and ceremonial healing.
Speakers:
Kathleen Harrison, MA: Psychedelic Insight: Bringing It Back to Social Reality
Kathleen (Kat) Harrison is an ethnobotanist who loves to explore the relationship between plants, mushrooms and human beings—particularly in the realms that are often hidden: cultural beliefs, personification of species, rituals of healing and initiation, vision-seeking modalities, and artistic creations that illustrate the plant-human relationship. She also studies and teaches the deep history of humans in nature, encompassing both before and since the advent of agriculture.
Kathleen founded Botanical Dimensions in 1985, with her then-husband, the late Terence McKenna, who retired from BD in 1992. Kat has been the President and Project Director throughout BD’s history, and continues to actively manage both ongoing and new projects.
Dr. Gary Pace: The Role of the Ceremonial Use of Entheogens in these Apocalyptic Times
We are in a critical phase of planetary evolution due to problems caused by the human species. The contemporary proliferation of entheogens may be a hopeful sign, if they can serve as catalysts to help to shift our consciousness, to change our relationship with the natural world, and to develop a more sustainable society.
Dr. Gary Pace graduated from the ICP program at CIIS in 1985 and went on to become a Family Physician, working for the last 20 years in Community Health Centers. He has been a student of Indigenous wisdom traditions and is interested in learning from these cultures how to navigate these challenging times.
Ron Nadeau: Returning To The Memory Of Wholeness
The "Great Turning", as we know, is not only global but personal. The sooner each one can awaken to the truth of our beings as energy bodies of light and love the sooner the "shift" that is trying to take place can occur. The use of entheogens provides us a perspective that is outside the confines of space and time and offers us the opportunity to "see" truth of our identities and interconnectedness from the personal as well as global perspective. When these truths, previously understood only as ideas and concepts can "shift" from the head and become experienced in the heart, then the "Shift" of how we perceive ourselves and all of life, begins. This is not about getting new information. It's about remembering what we have forgotten. I will be speaking personally of my own return to the memory of wholeness.
Ron is the Founder of "Spirit House Center For Attitudinal Healing" http://spirithousehealing.org/ and a graduate of the CIIS "Sound Voice, Music Healing" program.
