FoF Outreach - Packing Care Boxes for 2000 Child Refugees in North Texas

Choose a 2 or 3 hour block between 7AM - 3PM. Come join this grass-roots effort with a crowd of volunteers from all around the Metroplex to prepare care boxes that are needed for the 2000 refugee children from Central and South America, and Mexico that are headed to North Texas. The children will be placed throughout the state as they wait their turn to determine their immigration status. The wait could be quite long and these unaccompanied children will be housed in groups in different facilities surrounding DFW. There is very little government funding and no structure ready to deal with this influx. So the need is huge.

You can choose when you would like to participate between 7AM - 3PM. A two or three hour block is recommended. We could try to go green and have more fun by joining into groups to work together and getting a couple of carpools going...IF POSSIBLE . Lets list what area you are coming from and your preferred time in the comment section below if you are interested in participating in a carpool. Maybe we can coordinate a good size group at the same time. You are welcome to participate independently as well! Just show up!

Children are welcome but required to stay with their parent. FOFKids Service League will also be present adding their hands to the effort from 10AM to 1PM.

There will be an opportunity for all children present to make a card for a fellow child to be included in each box. So even really little ones can contribute!!
