Learning another language is a challenge - sans aucun doute !
Whether it’s just keeping up with a language you’ve learned in the past, or taking what you’ve learned in the classroom out into the real world, there’s no way of doing it easily!
That’s why I started this French conversation group - to provide a solution for the conundrum: how on earth do I keep up with my French? It’s also become a place for French and Francophone expats to take some time out from speaking English, and get to know some Melbourne locals.
This meetup group is a wholly-owned offshoot of MyFrenchLife.org.Community. It is where we promote MyFrenchLife events in Melbourne. The meetup platform is only used to facilitate these events. Only members of MyFrenchLife.org can members and attend events.
This is not a free Meetup group. Nor is this a Beginner Learn to Speak French Group - if in doubt message us before you RSVP. NOTE that the basic requirement to attend the reunions is an intermediate/advanced/fluent level of French!!!
How do I attend events? in 3 steps
- Sign-up as a member at MyFrenchLife.org - it’s free! - Click here to join!
- Then join our Meetup group! MyFrenchLife events (Using your real name so we know who you are – for further details click on https://www.myfrenchlife.org/faqs/French conversation group FAQ page.)
- RSVP for events you’d like to attend and keep your RSVP current.
As someone who’s taken the time to learn the French language, you know there’s so much involved in gaining a deeper understanding of French history and culture, which leads to a deeper appreciation of the language, the French people and the country.
Our global online community is all about experiencing France beyond the cliché and gaining that deeper understanding & appreciation as we connect with other members.

Our MyFrenchLife 'French conversation' events - the details** \
- All attendees must be members of MyFrenchLife.org, as well as this 'French in Melbourne' group on Meetup.
- Our events are only open to members who belong to both: MyFrenchLife.org and this group (and your guests, when you’re present). All attendees must RSVP on Meetup before attending and keep your RSVP up to date please.
- Fee: Usually $4.00
(Visit our website here and look for the big red ‘sign-up’ button – top right!). Ticket fees are set by MyFrenchLife.org. Some events may be free at the sole discretion of MyFrenchLife.org
If you are unable to pay the fee stated please be sure to contact Judy MacMahon - info@myfrenchlife.org - before you RSVP. Places can be made available on compassionate grounds and often are. But, attendance attracts a fee, so please be aware of that before you RSVP. Merci mille fois
