Functionland: A romance of many paradigms

Your name is objJenny of class Professional : Person and you live in Objectland, a dark world controlled through greed and deceit by the corrupt government party Base Class.

While pondering the implications of life in Objectland, you imagine what it would be like to live in Imperativeland, a world inhabited by structs, pointers and procedures, where the concept of Objects is heretical.

"Isn't it reasonable", you ask yourself, "that if residents of Imperativeland cannot comprehend the higher level of existence in Objectland, that there could also be a higher level of existence above Objectland, one that an object's mind cannot comprehend?"

You are visited by a being named Alonzo. He explains that he is from a world named Functionland and is what is known as a lambda expression. He takes you to visit Functionland to help you understand the functional way of living so that when you return to Objectland you can help your fellow objects to live more fulfilling lives by embracing functional principles.

Details

This is an F# workshop for all skill levels where you will work in teams of 2-3 people to solve problems in F# to progress the story.

It is non-competitive and is all about having a great time coding together.

There will be extension problems for those that are experienced in F#.

What you need to bring

If you have a laptop, please make sure F# is working and bring it along. If you don't have a laptop, that's completely fine, you can just join a team that does.
