Ok, it seems rather opulent that there would be a champagne bottle and chocolate covered strawberries in our rooms when we arrived last year , but hey! We have worked hard all year, and it is, after all, New Years' Eve!!!!!
So University Hilton will be doing the same THIS year, and YOU can be a part of it! With your friends at Ground Zero! I LOVE it!!!
We had SOOO much fun last year and we want to do it AGAIN! So I am posting this one early so you can sign up for it early and get the best room arrangements!
Here's the deal - you sign up at University Hilton and pay in advance and you can arrange for either a single room or a room with a friend ! Your choice!
The price per person based on double occupancy is $195.00 for the complete package. Please sign up now, before it goes up again. Sara or Jenna in sales tell me we have a huge number of signups so don't wait any longer. Several groups are signed up for this so we will have a big singles presence. You do NOT have to be single to attend and join us! Sign up and pay the University Hilton and make sure you tell Sara or Jenna in Sales that you want to be seated with the Ground Zero Singles Over 40 group because we have reserved seats for our groups.
Here's what you get: Your room, two double beds, flannel robes, great suites overlooking the city in the distance, champagne and chocolate covered strawberries upon arrival! Meet at the rooms of the Ground Zero Organizers (ask at the desk) for the pre-party meet and greet - BYOB (optional) and snax if desired. Get to know one another and chat. Ask at check-in as you get your wrist bands where Ground Zero will be meeting for the pre-party. BYOB to share but no need to bring munchies to the pre-party! We want to be hungry for all the great food they serve literally all evening.
At Appetizer time, we go down to the lower floor where all the banquet rooms are, enjoy meeting and greeting one another and the open bar starts. Last year's comments were, "Wow! They don't serve up the cheap stuff here!" The open bar is included in your price and goes all evening with a top-off at midnight of a champagne toast and balloon drop!
The buffet is out of this world! Stations with chefs carving up roast beef, seafood station, you name it, it's there. And not just run of the mill fare. This is all top notch stuff! You get what you pay for! And then some!
Last year Hot Sauce and another great band performed all evening for dancing on the big dance floor. We were all dressed to the nines, suits and tux's for the guys, gowns short or long for the gals, and well fitted for a top notch place on New Year's Eve. The music and atmosphere were electric!
And if that weren't enough, they served up the most extensive dessert buffet I have ever seen, and I've been to Vegas many times and been to many casino buffets. The quality of U Hilton's dessert fare is unprecedented in my book!
Then, they served up sandwiches an hour later, just in case somebody still had an inch of space left to fill, lol! And the bar continued to pour great wine, beer, full array of liquor drinks, whatever you wanted. Oy Gehvohlt!
It was all concluded by a champagne toast at midnight and a balloon drop while the desserts were still available. The band was still playing for about an hour after midnight. Then we all went up to our beautiful rooms which overlooked the skyline of CLT in the distance...beautiful! And the beds are SOOO comfortable! AND we got to sleep in the next morning! With a later checkout as well as an option to stay another night for a reduced rate! They served up a great breakfast buffet with all the fruits you could name, plus yogurt, bacon, sausage, eggs, made to order omelettes, pancakes, you name it. All included with your wrist band proving you are with Ground Zero Singles Over 40 and friends!
Go to past meetups December 31 2012 or January 1 2013 on Ground Zero Singles Over 40 to look at the pictures from last year. Sign up early to get in. Tickets are available to those who do not wish to spend the night, but truly, it is a better deal and safer if you book WITH the room! If you need to find a room mate, (guys seem to have a problem with this), we will help you.
See you all there! Sign up early and get your spot before it fills up! When capacity is reached, Hilton closes the available rooms/space in the party down and that's that. We had to send people away last year because they waited too long. Don't miss out!
