Details
-----------Since the meetup is full, go ahead and add yourself to the waiting list. Several seats open up as we get closer to the date and people change their RSVP------------
Hello Geogeeks,
We have two amazing presentations for the upcoming GeoMeetup. ArcGIS Online and Indoor Positioning.
1.- ESRI, the world leader in Geographic Information Systems, is doing a presentation about their ArcGIS Online platform. If you are starting to work in location based technologies, you need to see what ESRI has been doing with their platform. If you do GIS, you obviously already know about ESRI. Come get a small taste of what they showed in last month's yearly ESRI User Conference (which drew a record 14K+ people this year).
Talk: ESRI - Building and sharing beautiful maps with ArcGIS Online.
Learn how to create and share beautiful maps using Esri's ArcGIS Online mapping platform. We will publish data, create beautiful maps as services and share your maps to those you want to reach. These same web maps will also be consumed on a variety of devices and Esri's mapping API's. We'll also take a look at several useful map templates available for download to help tell stories through maps.
About Derrick Burke:

He currently leads a team dedicated to evangelizing Esri products and building well designed UI/UX geospatial applications/templates.
2.- WiFiSLAM has been taking a unique innovative approach to indoor positioning. Prepare to get see some awesome tech/math.
Talk: Modern innovations in indoor positioning
A guided tour of modern innovations in indoor positioning, including: Why triangulation doesn't work, how cutting-edge techniques overcome these limitations, and where future research is headed.
About Dave Millman:
David is co-founder of WiFiSLAM, where has been working lately on indoor maps and positioning systems. His most recent work involves bringing robotic algorithms and machine learning to mobile devices. It turns out that helping robots find their way around isn't all that different from helping people. David is a published author in the WiFi positioning field. Previously, he has worked on 3D Mapping and Simulation software at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory. His work is currently used by numerous branches of the U.S. Government and Military. He also had a short stint as an independent games developer (Millman Games). David holds a B.S. in Computer Science & Computer Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University.
I want to give a big thank you to Code for America for the space and ESRI who are providing food and drinks.
