The Great Underwater Pumpkin Carving Contest !!!

The plan is to arrive at El Prado Park at 9 am and be in the water by 9:45 am to carve the pumpkins.

We'll set up at the NE Gazebo.

Time for the Great Underwater Pumpkin Carving Contest !!!

The best carving is done by partner teams with one diver wielding the knife and the other diver holding the pumpkin or catch bag for cutout pieces (we are conservationists, after all).

Pumpkins must be gutted before entering the water. Plan on carrying the pumpkin out in a mesh bag and include a dive weight to stabilize the pumpkin underwater (they float like you would not believe).

Winners are eligible for the prestige that comes with that accomplishment and will win a prize too for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

Once carving is complete, participants can enjoy a nice dive while pumpkins are returned to shore and judged.

Should we have inclement weather, the event will be held at The Blue Heron Bridge instead. 7:30 am check-in (High Tide at 8:45 am)
