July 28, 2011 marked a very tragic day when a friend and group member, Mary Jo Cooley was killed in a motorcycle wreck at only 34 years of age. Behind she left two sons. In her honor, many generous people have donated time, resources, donations, raffle items, and lots of HEART in order to organize a memorial ride in her honor...

The Memorial Ride and Raffle for Mary Jo Cooley

It will begin in the parking lot of VBGB in the NC Music Factory (all bikes and cars are welcome but must be punctual) where riders and drivers will meet between 9am and 10am with the first bikes out promptly at 10am. We will then lead a slow and safe procession to the site of her accident in Rock Hill where we will then place a plaque in her honor and have a moment of silence. After the plaque is placed, all riders and drivers will then return to VBGB in order to celebrate her life with drinks, food, the largest outdoor patio, music and of course the AMAZING RAFFLE (tickets each being sold for $30) in which the grand prize that was so generously donated by MJ's friend, Mr. Kristian DiGaetano, of a 2005 Ducati 800 SS will be raffled off as well as so many other prizes including some of the following:

We look forward to making this a momentous event and one in which we can celebrate the life Mary Jo lived to the fullest during her days here with us! For anyone not able to ride in the procession, the party afterwards will be held at VBGB around 2 or 3pm when everyone returns safely from the ride to Rock Hill to place the memorial plaque.
