Ducks, turtles, squirrels and fish Hike

hike Leader: Fearless leader Jose

Ok  In case you were wondering those were the animals I saw when I did this hike last time. The destination is a hidden lake in the hills above studio city. Anyways this is a fun hike where you get to see alot of nature right smack in the middle of the city. It is not a deathmarch, the pace will be slow enough so you can talk to people. Also we will take breaks once in a while so Jose won't pass out and have a have a heart attack

When: Saturday april 13,[masked]:00am

Where: Wilacre Park in studio city. click on the address above or follow
the directions below

directions:from where ever you are get to the 101 freeway and head towards
studio city. that is near universal city (universal studios-citywalk) near the[masked]
freeway interchange. Then Exit Laurel Canyon Blvd. and turn south. That means turn
left if going northbound and right if going southbound. You will drive for a couple of miles
til you reach Fryman road. there is traffic light there and it is a "T" intersection.
Make a right and then another quick right to get into the parking lot.
The parking lot where we meet is at the intersection of Laurel canyon blvd and
fryman rd. Now if you want to park there it costs 3 dollars. the problem is that
it fills up quickly and you have to park north of fryman park if you want to park for free.
You can't park at fryman rd and south of it. you have to park north of the park
on laurel canyon on the west side. Or park in the neighborhoods of the light
before fryman rd where the signs permit you to park

************************************************************
Please come early if you have not been there before. or else you might be left behind

*************************************************************
What to bring: Water, hat, snack, hiking shoes, dress for weather, and a smile for Jose.
3 dollars if you want to park at wilacre park,

****BRING EXACT CHANGE THAT DEVIL MACHINE DOESN'T GIVE CHANGE OR ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS****

Hike level: advanced beginner 4 out of 10, around 1000 feet elevation gain and loss, 5-6 miles roundtrip, rollar coaster hike,
Roads, trails and fireroads will be taken. slow uphill, medium downhill. The last time we did this hike it took us 2 hours and 45 minutes

hike description: as we start at the parking lot, we will take a road up the hill.
The hill is pretty steep, but it only lasts a short while.
we will take trails and roads til we get to the tree people park.
There we will stop at the restrooms and walk around. Then we will do the most dangerous part of the hike, we will cross the street. hopefully nobody gets runned over, then we will go down a canyon on a one man trail. Then we will get to the lake and take a break. After we will take same trail back up to the tree people park. then we will take roads back to the cars.

There have been reports of a few sprinkles here and there. But according to the newscasters it should go away soon. So the hike is still on!

Before I respond I would like to ask what fitness level would I have to be in order to go on this hike?

you must be able to walk for 3 hours and climb 1000 feet. Don't worry it won't be at a fast pace going uphill. My large oversized butt goes slowly up the steep areas. If you can't make it up the hill, it is very easy to find your way back.
