WEATHER UPDATE!!!!

Hi Everyone!!!!  Just wanted to post an update for the hike this coming sunday.

The weather is predicted as follows:

Rain 20%

Temp in the mid 50's

It WILL be chilly in the morning so please dressing accordingly!!

We will have a slight increase in the stream flow at on the hike as well as at the falls, however I don't see this being a problem, as the stream crossings are minimal and few. We should have a GREAT hike and the canyon should look spectacular this weekend!!!

If you decide that this might not be to your liking PLEASE by all means UPDATE your RSVP

ASAP!!!! This hike is not limited but as a courtsey to me I would appreciate this VERY MUCH!!!

Thank you, and I look forward to seeing EVERYONE Sunday morning!!!!

Dave

This is DEFINITLY a beginners hike!!!!!!

This is a joint meet up with the San Gabriel Mountains Hike Group

We will start our hike at the intersection of N. Canyon Blvd. and Ridgeside Dr. in Monrovia. We will meet starting at 7:30 am and leave promptly at 8:00 !!! During this time we can get to know each other and watch the deer that are usually in the area. We will proceed approx. 3/4 of a mile up the road to the park entrance station, and another 1/2 mile thru the park to the trailhead at Emerson Flats Picnic Area. From this point we will proceed up the trail approx. 1 mile to the Monrovia Canyon Waterfall where we will break for snacks and pictures. Although it is NOT required, it is recommended that you bring at least 1 liter of water and snacks, sturdy hiking boots and a camera!!!

From the 210 fwy exit Myrtle Ave and proceed north to the STOP sign at Hillcrest Ave.

Approx. 2 1/2 miles. Turn RIGHT on Hillcrest and proceed Approx. 1/4 mile to Canyon Blvd. Turn Left, and proceed north to Ridgeside Dr. Approx 1/2 mile. We will be parking and meeting up here.

This hike was a glorious way to start a Sunday. The people were friendly and fun. David, the organizer had interesting facts to share and he was highly engaged in making everyone feel welcome and kept a good eye out for the entire group.

A good first hike for us. We were back on time which meant we could make it to New Capital Seafood for Dim Sum before the crowd got too bad. Thanks for a good experience, Dave

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
