Baldwin Hills Ridgeline loop hike

Details
Take 2 hours every third Wednesday--we get a 360 degree view from Downtown L.A. to Malibu to Palos Verdes and can watch the sunset.
WHEN: 5:30 pm to sunset, which is when the rangers start telling us to go home.
YOUR HIKE LEADER: is also somewhat of an expert on local history, environmental battles and native plants, (so if you are looking for advice on drought tolerant native plants and wildflowers or suing developers to save open spaces, come on this hike)! You can see my blog at http://rare-earth-new... (http://rare-earth-news.blogspot.com) for stories on new parkland purchases and other environmental battles.
(NOTE: this hike alternates every third Wednesday evening with our hikes at the Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook and the Ballona Wetlands)--one day we will be able to hike between the two halves of this park, but the trail is not yet open.
MEET: Lots of cool people
MEET WHERE?: at the Kenneth Hahn park--at the top of the Baldwin Hills.

DIFFICULTY: Easy, 200 feet maximum elevation gain on a civilized trail. Lots of restrooms and water fountains.

FREEWAY DIRECTIONS: the closest freeway to this hike is the 10. Take the La Cienega Blvd offramp and go south 1 mile to park entrance at bridge. We will park at the first lot on the left after entering the park--there is a sign saying "Olympic Forest". Park in the first spaces you see ofter the "Olympic Forest" sign. The trail is located on the ridgeline to the east
