Mountaingate/Gardenland/San Vicente Mtn--Nike site loop--In Brentwood

A SATURDAY EVENING HIKE WITH VALLEY TO WEST L.A. VIEWS

6.7 miles, 3 1/2 hours: starts at Mountaingate-Canyonback intersection, go north on Canyonback sidewalk, then trail begins. Then go down the single track trail to Mandeville Canyon road, walk along Mandeville Canyon road for 1/4 mile, then cross and go back up the hill on the wide Gardenland fireroad to the West Mandeville Fireroad, then go north to the Nike site, then east on dirt Mulholland, then south on the Mountaingate-Kenter Ridge trail back to our cars.

ELEVATION GAIN: 650 FEET

AT THE HALFWAY POINT--THE NIKE SITE, THERE IS WATER AND RESTROOMS

DIRECTIONS: Sepulveda Blvd. to Mountaingate Drive. Go up the hill past the golf course and park at the top of the hill at intersection with Canyonback Drive. PARK ON THE STREET....FREE!!!!!
