Burn off Thanksgiving dinner at the Beaudry Loop hike

Here's your opportunity to burn of a little of that Thanksgiving meal. Join us for hiking the beautiful and scenic Beaudry loop in the Verdugo Mountains. Hike begins at three so any of you can get some Black Friday holiday shopping done, if that happens to your plans. .

This is a six mile hike, will take about three hours, with an elevation gain of about 1400 feet. Although we are in the cooler time of year, its important to know that with the exception of the beginning of the trail which is at the bottom of a north facing canyon and has a canopy of live oaks, the rest of the trail is exposed.

If any of you have been on the Thursday night hikes at Wildwood and Stough Canyon, this is similar, and basically on the other side of the mountain. Also, similarly the peak has radio towers

Although, we can plug directions in easily, the easiest way to get here is from the 134 in Glendale, is to get off at Glendale Ave, which shortly merges with Verdugo. If you take Verdugo, keep going north, go north on Canada Blvd, then go left on Country Club Dr. and then turn on Beaudry Blvd.

Bring your outdoor essentials:

At least two liters of water, hiking shoes/boots, hiking poles if you use them, basic first aid supplies, phone, sunscreen, and a FLASHLIGHT/HEADLAMP!! We will be coming back in the dark. You know the drill!
