(ABOVE: Bouquet falls and rocks)
We will start our hike at the Quarry road parking area on the east side of Bouquet canyon road, and follow a wide dirt road starting from the west side of Bouquet canyon road that gains 1100 feet in elevation in 3 miles, eventually reaching the Saugus Del Sur fireroad (see map below). We will soon reach the 3700 foot summit of Bee peak by using a single-track trail along the summit, where we will stop for lunch. From there, we will take a narrow dirt trail down the hill to some rocks. Known as Pelona Schist, these are very solid dark-colored metamorphic rocks. We will climb down them carefully, losing the remaining 200 feet in elevation as we bottom out at Bouquet Canyon creek. Here we will check out the waterfalls, which are a series of year-round flowing cascades with one 20 foot falls and numerous small drops. There is some poison oak in the falls area so I will point that out. From the falls it is a 1 mile walk along the roadside back to our cars
LENGTH: about 6 miles and three hours at least
