OK....So every time I go to Vasquez Rocks I see these amazing cliffs and spires with holes in them and birds flying in and out of them, and I've never seen anyone get on the top. So, I finally found the way up. The view is really amazing. EXCEPT....that I'm not going to the cliffs the usual way. I and anyone that wants to come with me will be taking a diagonal sloped shelf from the creekbed up to the cliffs. It is challenging and scary looking in one spot. Luckily, there is another way to get to the cliffs for those that come on this hike, and I will point it out. The bold and the not so bold will meet at the top of these cliffs.
Before that we will hit some of the usual fun rock climbing spots. All are suitable for those with a moderate level of hiking experience. The diagonal sloped shelf to the cliffs is the only part of the hike WHICH I DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT ANYONE DO, but you can come with me anyway if you want.
• AFTERWARD: the survivors will meet for beer and pizza at Big Mouth Pizza, located about 1/2 mile away on Agua Dulce Road
