Directions:

From La Canada, Flintridge (55 miles, 1 hour) take Hwy 2 north, Angeles Crest Highway to Vincent Gap trail head.

From San Bernardino take I15 north, turn left on Hwy 138 west (8.6 miles), turn left on Hwy 2 west (5.1 miles), go through Wrightwood, go left at the Big Pines intersection (8.7 miles, still on Highway 2), pass the Grassy Hollow Visitor Center/Ranger station, continue 4 miles to Vincent Gap trail head.

Suggested carpool spot at Angeles Crest Highway and Milmada Drive, La Canada/Flintridge.

Named after the founder of the Boy Scouts of America, Lord Robert Baden Powell. This peak ascends to 9,400 feet and includes 40 switchbacks with 2,800 feet of elevation gain. From the summit, on a clear day, you can see the San Bernardino Valley, Antelope Valley, Mt. San Gorgonio, and Mt. Baldy. There is a limber pine grove near the top with a tree that is over 1500 years old.
