Cattle Canyon hike and optional dabble in gold panning

Details
Join us for a beautiful, yet fairly moderate hike along Cattle Canyon, feeding into the east fork of the San Gabriel river. If any of you have done the bridge to nowhere hike, its in this direction, but you don't turn to the left.
Use this linke to find out where to park:
Hike bottom lines:
7.2 miles
4 hours
Little elevation gain
Will need an adventure pass
This is a 7 mile hike, with only a little elevation gain, through dense stands of alders, sycamore, and oaks. You will hike past other side canyons such as Dime Canyon, Peacock canyon, etc. We will hike to a "no trespassing sign" and then back the other way. Overall, this is a nice alternative, because this trail is not that popular, compared to the more well known bridge to nowhere.
This will also be popular for those who huff and puff a lot as there is little elevation. Make sure you bring a lunch for afterwards, sunscreen, hat, maybe an extra pair of socks, basic first aid, and other essentials, (whistle, etc.), and a camera of course to post great pictures. We will plan 3-4 hours for the hike.
Afterwards while we eat lunch by the river, for those who want to try it out with me, I plan on dabbling in a little bit of gold panning. I seriously don't expect to find much in the stream gravel, but hey you never know! If you plan on doing this. I am limiting this to 25 people, as parking is limited, even at such an early hour. If you do plan on trying your hand at gold panning you'll need a gold pan (can get one online for less than $10 bucks, and a small shovel).
LEGAL STUFF: by going on this hike, you agree to assume all risks of this hike, and that no one at Meetup including the organizer is responsible for your safety. See the Meetup terms of service especially paragraph 6.2:
